Annie Lennox

Annie Lennox born December 25 in 1954. She was born in Aberdeen Scotland. Dorothy Farquharson was her mother as was Thomas Allison Lennox was her father. Lennox was accepted into the Royal Academy of Music in London in the 70s, where she took flute lessons and the harpsichord over three years. She lived off of an allowance for students and went on part-time employment to augment her income. When she was at the Royal Academy Lennox was dissatisfied in her ability compared to her student classmates and was contemplating a different path she might follow. Lennox played the flute in the 1976 group called Dragons Playground. However, she left before New Faces, the I.T.V. talent show. Between 1977 and the year 1980 she was vocalist for The Tourists. A British pop band from the UK. She began to meet Dave Stewart, with whom she would form the pop-duo Eurythmics. Lennox worked on her solo debut record Diva. It was released in 1993.
