Maureen Denise McCormick born 5th August 1956 in Woodland Hills California, youngest daughter and only one of Richard McCormick. She was raised by a mother who was a housewife and a father who worked as a teacher. Michael Dennis and Kevin are three of her elder brothers. McCormick was a gifted entertainer and singer at the age of 6. She would put on shows with puppets for her neighbors. The fairytale story of her rise to fame began when she took home the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley contest at the age of 6. This led to an inquiry from talent agent Pat Domigan of the Jack Wormser Agency who asked whether she wanted to be in show business. McCormick got her first big job when she was cast in the 1964 television commercial of Mattels new baby doll, Baby Pattaburp. In the following year, she starred in another commercial for Mattels Chatty Cathy doll and was soon cast in the play The Wind It up and It is Broken at the La Jolla Playhouse. The Brady Bunch McCormick's audition was among 1200 other children for the part of the eldest towheaded daughter in The Brady Bunch. The show starred Florence Henderson and Robert Reed newlyweds, who shared a blended-family. The show ran for five years. McCormick wrote in her 2008 memoir Heres the Story : Surviving Marcia Brady & Finding My True Voice that she was close to having ended her relationship in the fifth season to Barry Williams, her co-star as well as her on-screen brother. She was 16 years old when she was in the scene; he was 19. The incident would have happened as she describes. The timing of our romance was not right.
