In America The early performing arts accomplishments of young Maureen FitzSimons (who we know as Maureen O'Hara) would definitely place her into the child prodigy category. It was an innate quality for a woman who was of Irish heritage, who was nurtured in her early years by talented family members as well as parents. Maureen moved into this loving home on the 17th of August 20, in Ranelagh. Marguerita FitzSimons' mother, Lilburn, was a contralto. Charles FitzSimons was a successful businessman from Dublin who also owned a piece of the Irish soccer team Shamrock Rovers. Maureen FitzSimons came second in a group of 6 FitzSimons. Peggy FitzSimons Florrie Charles B. Fitzsimons Margot Fitzsimons James O'Hara rounded off this stunning group. Maureen was a fan of rough sports as young and became very good at it. The passion for sports was matched by an unnatural talent for performing. It was evident when she won every Feis for drama and theater which Ireland could offer. At age 14she was admitted to the Abbey Theater, where her dream was to pursue operatic singing and classical theater.
